Your dentist has referred you to us because he or she personally cares about your dental health. We work together as a team to offer what’s best for you. First and foremost, we believe that people should have their own healthy teeth for an entire lifetime. To support that belief, we subscribe to a program of preventive dental care. It is also our belief that the prevention of disease is far more enjoyable, less costly and more comfortable for all concerned.
Dr. Houman Abtin BDS, MSc, Dip. Endo., FRCD(C)

Dr. Houman Abtin graduated in 1998 from dentistry. Shortly after his graduation he moved to Manitoba where he practiced in remote communities for 2 years. In 2002 he returned to BC and he was involved in teaching part-time at UBC till 2012. He had his own family dental practice in South Delta prior to deciding to pursue 3 years of Graduate Endodontic program at UBC in 2008.
Dr. Abtin is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. A Diplomate is an Endodontist who has made significant achievements beyond the mandatory educational requirements of the specialty. This is one of the highest levels of recognition in the world in the field of Endodontics.
He is a fellow of the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia, A fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, and a member of the Canadian and American Association of Endodontists. He is a part time clinical assistant professor at UBC.
Dr. Abtin has been extensively involved with community volunteering work, and he was recognized by North Shore News on April 2008. From 2013-2018 in affiliation with UBC, he volunteered part time providing dental care in the down town east side. This was the most humbling experience personally and academically serving the most vulnerable members of our society.
He is married to Nahid, a medical doctor in North Vancouver.
Dr. Brian YipDDS, MSc, Dip. Endo., FRCD(C)
Dr. Brian Yip is a Certified Specialist in Endodontics who is passionate about helping patients save their natural teeth through gentle and effective root canal treatments.
He earned his Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Michigan, followed by a residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) through NYU Langone in Waikiki, Hawaii. It was during this residency that he discovered his passion for endodontics.
After his residency, Dr. Yip returned home to Ottawa, where he practiced as a general dentist for several years before moving to Vancouver to pursue specialty training. He completed his Master of Science in Craniofacial Science and Diploma in Endodontics at the University of British Columbia. Having found a strong connection to Vancouver during his training, he decided to make the city his home and is excited to serve the local community.
Dr. Yip is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (FRCDC) and an active member of the Canadian Academy of Endodontics (CAE), the American Association of Endodontists (AAE), and the Canadian Dental Association (CDA).
He takes pride in providing personalized, evidence-based care and strives to make every patient feel comfortable and informed throughout their treatment.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Yip enjoys staying active with tennis, badminton, golf, and table tennis. He is fluent in English and Cantonese and enjoys connecting with patients from diverse backgrounds.
